Private and Group Bass Instruction at Lobo Lowe Music

Bass Camp is a specialized, small-group instruction program for adolescents and adults. We are dedicated to creating opportunities for young people who are interested in the double bass but lack the resources and access to formal music training. Our goal is to address this critical access gap by providing high-quality, affordable instruction in a supportive environment.

The program aims to give young musicians the foundational solo and ensemble skills needed to participate and excel in competitive and non-competitive music programs. Participants, organized into small groups of four to six, receive comprehensive training in a wide range of music genres, including solo and accompanimental skills, from experienced professionals. This foundational training opens doors to a world of musical and academic opportunity.

Key Program Outcomes:

  • Beginner Outcomes: Participants are prepared to successfully join a school band program.
  • Intermediate Outcomes: Participants are able to audition for and perform in competitive band programs and school-sponsored music festivals.
  • Advanced Outcomes: Participants are prepared to audition for competitive band programs, perform in music festivals, and successfully audition for college music programs.

Benefit

The program also provides a tangible benefit to families by significantly reducing the cost of studio instruction (approximately $40 per lesson versus the typical $100-$125) and making the travel time more manageable for participants in the targeted areas.
